Tracking my goals

After a fabulous 1st bootcamp class tonight, I came home energized and even more motivated than ever to get my weight loss & fitness goals on track.  So what did I do?  I sat down immediately, ready to blog about it.  However, I realize that I need to make this particular topic a priority in my life.  So it gets it’s own area  🙂   


I have talked about my weight goals for awhile now.  I believe the nice weather is really starting to motivate me (either that or the fear of having to wear a bathing suit as it gets nicer).  No matter the motivation, I am really excited to share my journey with you all.  Today I went to my 1st bootcamp class, one I’ve been trying to make for weeks now and tonight, I finally was able to!!    I couldn’t keep up with the other ladies, however, I felt good about what I did do and am hoping I can do even better next week.   I came home feeling energized and I know I will be sore tomorrow but it was worth it.  I can’t wait to go back again next week.

Tomorrow, I begin CrossFit.  I’m slightly terrified… I’ve been watching videos online and it looks crazy-intense!!  To be able to have that kind of strength though, would be amazing!!  Right now, I can’t even do more than one push-up.   I have zero strength, especially in my arms.  My son said to me recently “Mommy, why do your muscles hang at the bottom of your arms instead of the top like everyone else”?   hahaha!  What a sweetie I have eh?

Obviously my main motivation is simply to be healthier and to look & feel better about myself.  In addition, I don’t want to be “the fat mom” picking up her kids from school.  I want to set a great example for my kids.  I’m constantly signing them up for activity after activity, telling them all the healthy benefits, when in reality, I’m not really setting the same example for them when they look at me.  And a more short-term motivation is that a group of girls are getting together in July for a photoshoot — a boudoir type shoot.  Even if those pictures get locked in my drawer for no one to see, I still want them to look amazing, so at least I can look at them and love how I look.

Ok so tomorrow I’m going to post again during the day to give my weight & measurements.  I would rather post my morning weight (lol).  🙂    That will give me a good starting point.  🙂   I know since I wrote my last blog post about getting my butt into gear, I have lost about 5 or 6 lbs… but I still have a long way to go.   Wish me luck!!!


Thought of an idea as I was writing this… So I’m opening up the floor to any of you out there who have a goal to reach. Doesn’t necessarily need to be fitness or weight related – whatever it is you are working on right now, if you need that extra motivation, such as an audience to admit the bad things and celebrate the good with, why not join in?

So anyone who is interested, please contact me (use the contact me form on the site, DM me on Twitter or msg me on facebook) and I can get you a section set up under the Diary heading – you can write as little or as often as you’d like. 🙂

  1. Proud of you girl! Fitness really is a good addiction, in moderation like all other things in our lives. I feel the same inspiration every class and I have so much fun with all the awesome ladies and even some new friends I have met. I can’t wait to have you back! You will progress quickly. Some of the ladies will tell you they have seen HUGE changes since starting and it is all the more motivating to keep going. Bootcamp is tough, the idea being to push yourself harder than you would yourself. No two classes are identical so you never get bored. You have already taken all the first steps in a successful fitness journey, you made it out to class #1, you have shared your goals for support, and you are about to start another fitness trek tomorrow. Again, very proud you are on the right track and I am Hete whenever you need support!!
